Ethiopia: Who is Belai Habte-Jesus? Does he have any genuine credential to work as a nurse in the US, let alone as an M.D?

In recent weeks I have been following the Belai Habte-Jesus articles, “Watch the Sleeper terrorists in action”. A message to his Dear Patriotic Ethiopians and Friends of Ethiopia, as he calls it, and an all out attack on the the newly-formed AFD – and other true Ethiopians.

First of all I would like to clear up a few things about Belai Habte -Jesus. It is not my intention to offend anyone, and I would like to apologize to anyone who finds what follows insulting, but these are the facts and they cannot be denied

Belai Habte-Jesus was born in Harrege from a Tigrain poor family, like most of us, and was adopted by foreigners and looked after by foster parents before being taken to India. While he was in India he studied medicine. Even though he claims to have graduated with a BSC degree, whether he completed the course is doubtful: he certainly could not find a job in India. With the help of his foster families he was sent to the UK. Even here he could not find a post. Whatever qualification he claimed to possess it was not recognised by the British universities or the British Medical Association. He was advised to sit an equivalency exam. He failed not once but twice, sad to say.

Fortunately, whilst in the UK he settled in Kent. With the help of his foster parents’ friends he got a job in a hospital as a nurse, mainly making beds and carrying sick people from one ward to the other, bathing and feeding etc. Even as a nurse he did not last long, losing his job as a result of depression and loneliness.

However, while still in Kent, friends of his foster family introduced him to the ex-Ethiopian royal family in London. God bless his soul, the late Crown Prince (Atse Amha Selassie) and Princess Medferahwork suggested he become a friend of their beloved son, Leul Zerayakob.

When we met him at Great Portland Place, the residence of the late Crown Prince (Atse Amha Selassie), we aIl had a good chat with him. At

that time we were a little bit worried about his state of mind as he seemed confused about everything . It was a very difficult time for him, he explained, the pressures for a man who grew up with Pentecostal fostering parents immediately mixing and socialising with the royal families being enormous.

He calls every elderly person “ante”, “anchi”, etc and a few friends and myself decided to give him advice and to educate him a little bit. We were wondering why he does not know Ethiopian culture even though he did not grow up in Ethiopia? We do not see the difference between Indian culture and the Ethiopian culture when it comes to respecting elderly people.

However, we were very sympathetic and decided to help him with the cultural confusion he was facing and help him to adapt to the new

environment.

In order to impress the royal family and their friends, Belai does all sorts of inexplicable things. Unfortunately, the type of mistakes he makes expose his immaturity.

Consider the following:

Blunder:

1. After we trained him how to talk gently, how to respect the elderly, how to communicate with people, he told us that he was a close relative of the Late Emperor Haile Selasse, and as such we have to work hard with him and should follow his advice in regard to the royal family. Four or five of us could not stop laughing and were convinced he was insane. He has denied his poor family and tries to be something he is not.

One of our friends joked that next time we meet perhaps Belai will inform us that he is a close relative of Jesus Christ. He did it now. He is now

Habte-Jesus.

2. Later that year, Belai took Leul Zerayakob along with him to a Pentecostal church to be converted. We had a crises meeting With Princess Medferash and reminded her that the Ethiopian royal family is supposed to be a defender of the orthodox religion and therefore cannot convert to another faith. Shocked with our response, Belai immediately apologised.

Then he himself became an orthodox follower.

3. During the late 80s, it was decided that the late crown prince Asfawossen was to be crowned as a king in exile. At this time attempts were being made, with foreign assistance, to overthrow the dictatorial regime of Mengistu Haile mariam. The new constitution was drafted in USA. A few of us were asked to revise it and to make comments for changes. We spent a lot of time locked in a hotel reading the constitution and some of us disagreed and suggested changes. We agreed that until the final amendment was made the constitution booklet was not to be given out to the public. During the inauguration day we arrived with some friends at Grate Portland place. We could not believe our eyes when we saw that the constitution booklet had been given out to everyone present. Embarrassed, Princess Medferiashworq apologised and told us that it had been Belai’s idea. Most of us said enough is enough and decided not to work with him. Because of that division, the hope of the royal family with the help of foreign governments to overthrow the Mengistu regime and bring back constitutional royal rule to Ethiopia failed and the TPLF seized the opportunity for power. It has now come to light that Belai was workig undercover all along for the Shabiya and TPLF.

4. Again, Belai left his nursing job and moved to Grate Portland place. He started to behave as if he was a prince. As most of us were busy and could not be at Portland Place 24 hours a day like him, he started to speculate about some of us: who was a member of EPRP and who was spying for

the Dergue. He promised the royal family to clear up the mess. He was given financial assistance for some reason where we were sidelined and he became the most trusted person. With the unsuspecting royal family’s help he formed a so-called shadow cabinet. What they did not know was that in fact he was shadowing them, passing the information to shaiba and TPLF.

5. Belai became a member of the Anglo Ethiopian society and snatched a member’s girlfriend, a white Jewesh with a catholic faith follower. Having a white girl friend made him proud he showed himself as the superior of everybody. His poor childhood upbringing clearly reflects on him. Poor Belai did not last long. The lady he snatched from his closest white friend was snatched by his closest Ethiopian friend.

6. Big division in Grate Portland place. The royal family decided to move to the USA so that the late Amha Selase would get special medical treatment. Belai, with no job, no girl friend, depressed was ordered by his masters to follow the royal family to the USA. The Shaiba and the TPLF were worried that the royals were going to the USA to get the blessing of the US government. Belai was advised to work hard to make division and to discredit the royals, making them appear unfit to govern. Belai not only managed to divide the group who were helping the royals, but managed somehow to alienate the royals from Lij Seifu, the person who was working relentlessly on their behalf. The royals finally decided that there is no alternative to overthrowing the Dergue that they hand over power to Shaiba and TPLF.

7. Belai achieved his first mission but that was not enough. The TPLF achieved their divide and rule aim and sought to eliminate any force

that they saw as a threat. Belai was advised to join the newly formed Crown council in the USA and to spy on the emerging young royal Prince Ermias in the USA. Belai managed to join the Ethiopian Crown Council.

During the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea, he appointed himself as a mediator to his masters. Can you believe that a person who talks about Ethiopian patriotism and a person who clamed he is a royal family himself came to recognise Eritrean independence?

Now he officially works for TPLF. He claims to be a medical doctor, but he is not practicing medicine. However, he tells us he is a founder and in charge of Global Strategic Enterprises, but only God kows what the hell that might be.
