The newly appointed US Trade Representative, Ambassador Ron Kirk visited Axum in Tigray on 8/7/2009 .

He visited the Almeda Textile Factory which  is owned by the ruling thugs Endowment Fund for Rehabilitation of Tigray or EFFORT group.

According to their own admission,   EFFORT invested over *94 million USD for new production lines before 2006.

EFFORT is owned by the ruling thugs and its CEO is the wife of the crocodile liberator and tyrant Melese Zenawi,  Azeb Bolla/Mesfin . The company exports its product o the United States under African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).  The TPLF thug’s owned factory produce yarn, fabric, and apparel, design apparel, and manufacture aprons for Starbucks and sportswear for Champro – among other U.S. customers.

AGOA was enacted in May 2000 to expand U.S.-sub-Saharan African trade and investment, stimulate economic growth in  sub-Saharan Africa. Even though AGOA’s intended to expand U.S.-sub-Saharan African trade and investment, stimulate economic growth, the beneficiary of the act (AGOA’s act)  remain to be those with absolute power, such as Melese Zenawi  (his other name Legesse) , his wife  Azeb Golla who sometime also called Azeb Mesfin and their cronies who own most of the companies  in Ethiopia.
